A Message from the Supervisor

Imlay Township is located in the heart of Michigan, which is why we are referred to as the gateway to the thumb. With a population of a little more than 3,000, we are a small community that prides itself in its diversity.

Imlay Township recently embarked on an economic development strategy that incorporated soliciting input from existing key Township employers to attract new businesses to the community.  In 2012, the Imlay Township Planning Commission was instrumental in expeditng the site plan approval process for several of Imlay Township's key employers including Pinnacle Foods and Scotts.  In 2013, when the Township reached out to business leaders from these companies to ask if they would participate in an on-site interview regarding their location within the Township, they were more than willing to oblige.  The interviews provided these business leaders the opportunity to publicly declare why they chose to locate and/or maintain their business in the Township, how their business benefited from the expedited site plan approval process, and why they would recommend Imlay Township as an excellent business location to other businesses.
